The New Perspective On Weight Loss
Authored by Betty Brink

#1. First, a disclaimer. I know the author, and frankly, minus our friendship, I would not have read the book –– my body build and metabolism being such that weigh gain is not a concern. And what a shame that would have been. That’s because this book is about so much more than any one diet. But it is the only diet that can work. As the author says in the first chapter, if you think it is about the food, you missed the main meal.
What is the main meal? Self love, of course. When self love is there, everything else is just, well, small potatoes.
In sharing her tale, Betty Brink takes us through the process of how she worked her way to the main course. With each step along the way, I found myself thinking how I could put these same principles into practice in my own life as a way to address the issues that I have.
No matter what devils you are fighting, this book can be a gentle guide on how to learn a new way. Plus, it’s an easy, short read. But don’t let that fool you. It’s packed with healthy wisdom.

#3. Betty Brink, a budding author, bursts upon the book scene taking on the established culture’s view of body image. She challenges the thought that thin is the only good in life with her insightful look back at decades of fighting against her mother, her siblings, her peers, and even her own instincts to reach a goal of weight loss that was always just out of reach.
To the many women who are fighting this fight, you will find this book a revelation, as well as charming, funny, and deep. For those men and women in the habit of judging, it will certainly open your eyes.
Available in bookstores, on Amazon, “The Main Meal” is a page turner you cannot afford to miss!
